Helper Helper is built to make managing and tracking student volunteering and engagement effortless — and that starts with connecting directly to your existing Student Information System (SIS) or Learning Management System (LMS). We integrate with a wide range of SIS and LMS platforms to automate data sharing and ensure your student roster and activity information stay accurate and up to date.
Common Integration Use Cases
For most of our high school and K–12 district clients, integrations typically focus on two main data exchanges:

Roster syncing from your SIS to Helper Helper – Automatically keep your student roster current, including fields such as first name, last name, email address, student ID, class year, and optional groupings like homerooms or advisory periods.

Returning volunteer hours from Helper Helper to your SIS – Send volunteer hour totals back to your SIS so staff and students can view service progress directly within their primary system. These totals can reflect all-time service or be filtered by date range, category, or other criteria depending on your needs.

We’re committed to working with any SIS or platform that provides us with a means for secure data access — whether that is through standard methods such as SFTP, LTI 1.3, OneRoster, or a custom API. If your system provides a way to share roster data or receive grade or activity data in return, our team will collaborate directly with you to build a reliable integration. We view data integration as a partnership — not a paywall — and we’ll always advocate for open, transparent data sharing practices that empower schools to make the most of the systems they already use.
Supported Systems
Helper Helper currently integrates with many of the most widely used SIS and LMS platforms and we are willing to build integrations for any SIS for which you can provide us access. If your platform isn’t listed here, chances are we can still connect. Our integrations are designed to be flexible and secure, adapting to the systems and data-sharing methods you already use.

PowerSchool – Nightly import and export of rosters and student service hours via AutoComm and AutoSend are available to keep everything synced between these two systems.

Canvas – Easily sync your roster, include links to opportunities, and have grades or hours of service returned via LTI 1.3 External Apps. Single sign-on comes baked into LTI integrations.

ClassLink – Helper Helper is an approved application within Classlink. Quickly give us one-click access to your Roster Server and we will sync it nightly via their OneRoster integration. Classlink can also be used as your SAML 2.0 identity provider to easily set up single sign-on for your students and administrators.

Clever – Single sign-on integration available when using Clever passwords. For rostering, we can accept your roster in the same method and format that you are using to send it to Clever.

Aeries – Helper Helper is an approved partner and can roster your students directly from Aeries via their API. We can also return volunteer records to their Activities table on a nightly basis.

FACTS SIS / RenWeb – Helper Helper is an approved partner and can roster your students directly from FACTS SIS via their API. We can also return volunteer records to the Students Service Hours area of the SIS via their API.

Veracross – Helper Helper is an approved partner of Veracross and we can easily sync your rosters from their API into Helper Helper.

Infinite Campus – Several districts have set up nightly feeds using our sftp server or their own. We then transfer CSV files which allow our IT teams to sync rosters and volunteer service hours between Helper Helper and IC.
Flexible Integration Options
Every school or district manages their SIS a little differently, so Helper Helper supports multiple integration methods to fit your setup and the options provided by your SIS.

Automated CSV exchange via SFTP – Our most common integration approach. We securely import and export CSV files through our SFTP server (or yours) on a regular schedule to keep your data in sync. This may require some initial setup work by your IT team, although some SIS systems like PowerSchool have built-in functions to make this easy.

OneRoster integrations – A large number of student information and learning management systems support the OneRoster v1.1 data exchange standard. We believe this includes: Infinite Campus, Schoology, Skyward, Aeries, eSchoolPlus, Veracross, Blackbaud, and many others. If your SIS or LMS supports OneRoster, we can easily sync your roster to Helper Helper on a nightly basis.

LTI 1.3 Advantage – LMS systems such as Canvas, Blackbaud, Schoology and others support LTI 1.3 which enables roster syncing to Helper Helper (names and role provisioning), grades being returned from Helper Helper, and assignment deep linking into Helper Helper to allow your students and administrators quick access to Helper Helper opportunities and goals. LTI will automatically sign users in to Helper Helper when linked from within these systems.

Custom API – Many SIS platforms have custom APIs through which we can sync your roster to our server and return student volunteer service hours to your SIS. We have already integrated with many of these including Aeries, FACTS / Renweb, and Veracross. If you can provide us access to your SIS API, we will integrate with it.
